Celebrate the Acid Rain 2011 Conference Held in Beijing!

Announcement of postpone the Acid Rain 2010 to June 6-9, 2011

    Dear All,
Thanks for your support to Acid Rain 2010.

Just came across some news that is not good for the scheduled time for the Acid Rain 2010 conference: There will be a North America meeting in acid rain and critical loads (National Atmospheric Deposition Program Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium, Lake Tahoe, California October 19-21,2010)the same week we have planned for the Beijing Conference. It means the chance is very little of getting many scientists from US and Canada. Also since the time is now very limited, several people have made other travel plans and it is too late for them to apply funding to participate in Beijing in October. For these reasons, lots of scientists recommend to delay the conferences until 2011. After discussions with the organizing committee and scientists from Japan, Europe and America, we decide to postpone the conference into June 6-9, 2011.

We deeply apologize for this change.
The Organization Committee of Acid Rain 2010

Welcome

The 8th International Conference on Acid Deposition (Acid Rain 2010) provides an opportunity for relative scientists in the world, to attend a meeting that serves the needs of scientist interested in studies in the acid deposition and air quality. Papers on all related aspects of acid acid depositiona and environemtenal quality sciences are encouraged. The Acid Rain 2010 is being held at the China National Convention Centerin Beijing, China. Ideally located in the heart of Beijing Olympic Green, China National Convention Center stands right next to the Bird Nest (China National Convention Centre), Water Cube (National Aquatic Centre) and National Indoor Stadium. Don't miss this opportunity to participate!

Background

  From Columbus to Beijing
May 12-15, 1975 marked the First International Symposium on Acid Precipitation and the Forest Ecosystem.
The aims of the meeting were:
  1) to assess what is known about acidity in precipitation and to focus attention on its ecological effects through the world, and
  2) to serve as a forum for academic, industrial, governmental, and public interest groups to meet and debate the magnitude, extent, nature, and consequences of acid precipitation.
The 8th International Conference on Acid Deposition, Acid Rain 2010, will be faithful to these same aims, building on understanding gained since 1970. Acid Rain 2010 marks a transition from Acid Rain being viewed somewhat in isolation, to its being viewed as linked with climate change, land use, biodiversity, and human health.Journal Special Issue Original papers presented at Acid Rain 2010 will be considered for special issues of two major international journals (Water Air Soil Pollution and Advance in Atmospheric Science). Information will be posted as details become available.
